Fall = Football

College football is in full swing! Cooler weather, grilling out and yelling at the TV are all things that go hand in hand with fall and football season, but what about dogs? Dogs make the best ball receivers. Did you know there are 28 college football teams with live dogs as their mascots? Dogs make great mascots because dogs are very loyal to their family, like teammates on a football team, but can be ferocious and intimidating to strangers, or opposing football players. The most famous live dog mascots are Uga, the English Bulldog that roots for the University of Georgia, and Smokey, the Bluetick Coonhound that calls the University of Tennessee home. Stop by Paw Paws USA to get your furry cheerleader their own football swag in your favorite team’s colors. Also, if you’re in the Greenville area, check out our Tailgate Paw-ty on Saturday November 3rd from 11 am – 2 pm at our store. We’ll have food, games, and dogs available for adoption from Lucky Pup Rescue SC.
